The BYBA depends on the usage of the Burrillville School Department facilities to run our programs. As a result, the BYBA will follow all rules and policies as dictated by the Burrillville School Department Back2School RI Reopening Plan (click here to view the plan). The following is a summary of the policies we will ask players, coaches, and spectators to follow.
1. all players, coaches, and spectators must wear a mask for games and practices (regardless of vaccination status)
2. all players are encouraged to bring their own basketball to practices
3. all players are encouraged to bring a personalized water bottle to all practices and games
4. all players and coaches are encouraged to sanitize their hands often (sanitizer will be provided to coaches and made available during games)
5. all coaches are encouraged to social distance their players during practices when appropriate
6. if a player, coach, or spectator is currently in quarantine, they should not attend practices or games
7. if a player, coach, or spectator is exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, they should not attend practices or games
8. if a player, coach, or spectator has recently tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently in quarantine, they should not attend practices or games
9. if a player, coach, or spectator resides in the same household as someone who is suspected to have COVID-19, they should not attend practices or games
10. if a player or coach has been identified as a close contact, DOH will be contacted to get the most up to date policy around contact tracing, required testing, quarantine time, etc.
11. if a player or coach is awaiting test results for COVID-19, all members of the team who were possibly exposed following DOH guidelines may be asked to get a COVID test and we will move forward based on the results of that test
12. if a player tests positive for COVID-19, we expect notification from the parents
If we cannot use these facilities, we will not be able to run our programs, so its imperative that we follow these guidelines.
